There is a 5-night minimum during high summer season (June 1-Sept 15) unless a 2+ night gap between existing reservations. Just a level 3 to 4-minute stroll to the waves of the large Rio Del Mar beach with it's fun deli and fine restaurants and the Seacliff State Park Beach-next door. 5 night minimum during summer season, unless there is a gap of 2 or more days between current bookings. There is only a 2-night minimum during non-summer nights. There are also bikes, SwimSpa hot tub, croquet yard & much more! This grand English Tudor Manor is just the right setting for groups for a total of up to 14 beds, 6 formal bedrooms and 3 other areas with beds and 4-full baths, 2 w/showers & 2 w/tub/showers. The Ground floor features an elegantly appointed gourmet kitchen w/highly polished granite tiled counters & all stainless steel appliances inc. a new gas stove/oven and Kenmore dishwasher There is an oak cabinet with 3-available shelves in the dining room plus large food locker for extra food outside the back door. New ThermoSpa Swim Spa that seats up to 12 guests and you can also swim upstream! Main House-Kitchens & Bedrooms arrangement: The dining room had 2-tables that seat 22 plus 2-counter stools in the dining area for a total of 22 overnight guests, and it adjoins the kitchen. The 1st downstairs Bedroom has a Queen, 2nd Bedroom has a California King bed. A Full bath with shower/tub is between them on the hall next to the 1st utility room with 1 washer and 2-dryers. The Family Room has a 2-Queen Innerspring futons in front of the large wood fireplace, with Free firewood. There are lots of games, 100's of movies and a large armoire with TV/VCR/DVD and a stereo entertainment center. The Upper level has a Bedroom with hardwood floors and a Queen bed and a pack-and play in the closet. Another Bedroom has two twin beds The Game room has 2-Queens innerspring futons and upstairs entertainment center with a flat-screen TV with lots of free videos both VHS and DVD. It also has a full computer and B/W printer for your use. There is a full size refrigerator for drinks and a microwave in this room. Enjoy the small Foosball table with a pool table underneath. Another bedroom has a Queen bed and is called the Sunshine Room. There is also a door to the outside lovely deck with 4-chairs for a quiet conversation area. There is a compact wet bar with with a sink. The 2nd of 4 stackable laundries is located in a small closet off the wet bar. There is also a clothesline for hanging up bathing suits and towels to dry off. West Wing & Garden areas: The recently remodeled and now attached by new causeway the West Wing has a King bed, and a twin day bed in causeway, and a sofa. There is also a Comcast Cable TV/VCR and stereo w/CD and tapes. The second full bathroom is in the upstairs at the west wing area. The 3rd bath is next to the King bedroom. There is a spiral staircase off the end of the causeway that leads to the 3rd set of washers and dryers and the 4th bathroom on the ground floor. The two bathrooms in the west wing are on-demand water heaters with unlimited hot water. The main house has a large hot water heater for each floor. The 7,000 sq ft yard has a New 12 person SwimSpa, a front yard croquet lawn, flowers, 5-picnic tables, lots of chairs for up to 28 day guests, and plenty of room to hang up wet-suits and surfboards. There are also 8+ bicycles to enjoy the neighborhood trails with. The 4th bathroom with its fun round shower & unlimited hot water also has an outside entrance so it's easy to use from the yard. Enjoy the short level 3-4 min walk to the Rio del Mar Beach with it's 7-miles of sand! This beach has a small stream running into the sand and kids enjoy playing in the 6 inch deep water. There are also deli, a small grocery store and a formal white tablecloth restaurant at the large parking lot at the beach. Handicapped info & Adjoining Homes: There is a short ramp available that can be installed at the back door for folks who cannot walk up stairs and the first floor has a bathroom that most handicapped folks can utilize, though this house it NOT formally rated as 'handicapped accessible.' |

Multitude of good touches. Every utensil you could possibly ask for. Loads of games, CDs, books, etc. Plenty of freezer and refrigerator space. Cooperative landlords. When the hot tub heating stopped working repairman was rapidly dispatched.
Enjoyed spending time at this home with our extended family. Lots of room and great yard both front and back.
The interesting layout in this large house worked well for us with the upstairs divided into thirds for 3 families with children (ages 3 - 20) & 2 couples downstairs. Wonderful eating areas inside & out. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked. Enjoyed both the front & back yards & the walk of 4-5 short blocks to the beach. Love Rio Del Mar beach with Aptos Creek as a safe place for the kids to play. Appreciated the wagon provided to take supplies to the beach.
Worked perfectly for 18 high school senior girls and two chaperones. There is a neighborhood wide 10 PM curfew, so no loud outside parties, but for a school trip that is perfect! I'm fairly certain one of the neighbors is closely monitoring this as we observed her taking photos of our vans as we arrived, presumably so she could report us should we get out of line ;). Great beach for playing in waves without a crowd is 3 blocks away. They do a pretty good job advertising the property, so I'll leave it there, but there are many other advantages to the property. Yard and house rooms are smaller than the pictures would lead you to conclude if you're not familiar with photography, but everything is so well laid out that 20+ would be no problem logistically (although due to Santa Cruz county laws you can't put more than 22 in the house).

We played croquet on the front lawn, played a little frisbee golf, soaked in the hot tub (not all 19 of course), went to the beach, played video games, bbq'd on the backyard grill, and spent lots of quality time with family. A good time was had by all! I would highly recommend the TRM if you're visiting the Santa Cruz area.

This house was the perfect accommodations for a large group of us (20 adults, close friends). While there aren't a ton of large areas in the house (besides the kitchen/dining area), there is a huge backyard and plenty of funky chilling spaces. Far and away the highlight for us was snagging a fire pit on the beach 2 min walk away, though stake it out early, saturday night was busy (we were lucky enough to catch someone leaving). Only two comments I would make are that there was some renovation work going on at the property and also the neighbors are super concerned about noise and we had to make sure we were quiet after 10pm.
The home in Aptos was everything the pictures said it was. The owners were very understanding when we had a few hic ups along the way. Everything worked out and we thank the owners for hanging in there. The home was warm and inviting, not fancy, but very homey we loved all the twist and turns. Our time there was wonderful, and we will rent it again if the family is gathering in mass. We were in Santa Cruz to celebrate the passing of our mother, the home would have got her approval.
The Tudor Rose Manor is a fine place to have a large family, or a group of people who want to have a getaway time. The spacious courtyard with attractive plantings, hot tub, tables and benches is perfect for entertaining. I've attended several events, toured the two story house to observe the bedrooms, large dining room and kitchen, and the common room. In the future, this is the first place I will connect with to host my next family reunion.
We loved being with our family from Seattle, Kansas City, Issaquah, WA at the large family reunion home. Enjoyed the free firewood to take down to the beach for a sing-along and making samores! The hot tub was a delight after the beach walks too. The kids took the bicycles up the hill to Nicene Marks State Park and enjoyed a picnic at one of the many steams and picnic areas. Lots of room for everyone to be together, or in separate little areas and decks for quiet heart-to-heart talks.
