This cottage sleeps up to eight comfortably with many amenities, including a wrap-around outside deck and vaulted scenic-view windows to enjoy. This home is centrally located, convenient for Island visitors wanting exploration of Mt. Desert Island and its 5 harbors, scenic horse drawn-carriage rides/bicycle trips/all-level hikes, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Jordan's Pond with its famous Tea House serving popovers every afternoon. Cadillac Mountain boasts amazing views, and if tourists desire, the sunrise every morning is spectacular. This well-located home is also close to the Islands causeway which leads to historic sites, antique-hunting and so on. |

We all really enjoyed the stay here. It was very clean and in a great location. Would definitely stay again in the future.
Our stay at this chalet was very enjoyable. Nice clean, comfortable house with plenty of space and many amenities. Lovely beach themed decorations. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the large deck on the front of the house after a day of hiking, as well as for some outdoor dining. The house was convenient to both Acadia National Park and the village of Bar Harbor. Would definitely rent this house again!

My wife, college-aged son and I just spent an amazing week at the Hobo Chalet. First, the location is perfect being just a short drive from Acadia and Bar Harbor and very near a winery, the Trenton Bridge Lobster restaurant (highly recommended), Majnely Meats BBQ and the Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf. The house is set back from ME-3 and you feel like you are in the middle of the woods. We took full advantage of the grill and the deck. The interior is well-appointed with a large screen TV and extremely comfortable sofas on which to watch. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook. The owners prepared a book with recommended activities and dining which is helpful for out of state guests. But of course the highlight of Mount Desert Island is Acadia and we took full advantage of its proximity. It is also worth venturing to the portion of Acadia located on the Schoodic Peninsula which is very beautiful with few hikers. Parking in Bar Harbor is challenging so leave a little extra time if you have restaurant reservations (we ate at Havana, which was fabulous).
We loved this place! Cleanliness, location, decor, attention to detail! The owners provided the little things that you wouldn’t even think of. Thanks for having disposable pillow cases, hand sanitizers, etc. Our two families (with kids under 7) all really had a great time and house was perfect for two families with 3-6 kids.
We had an incredible time at the chalet. All of the pictures are very accurate and representative of this amazing property. The property owner was very responsive, amenable, and helpful with suggestions. The location could not have been better! So close to hiking, downtown area of the adorable bar harbor, and outdoor activities. Location is perfectly situated in Mount Desert Island and allows for easy ability to explore all areas of the island. The house is very well stocked with anything you might need to cook. The house does not have central air but the window units made sleeping quite comfortable. We will definitely be coming back! It was a wonderful stay
We really enjoyed our Maine vacation. The place was very clean and had comfortable beds. We loved the fit pit. It was a great location and the owner was very responsive. Would definitely recommend.

The property exceeded expectations. It was very clean, quiet, easy check in, quick communication with the host, comfortable beds, great shower, and adorable all around! Loved having the fire pit out back and the great deck too. Kitchen was very well stocked which made cooking easy. I read a lot of reviews before booking and happy we went with the property of the ones we narrowed it down to. Highly recommend! Only hiccup was that VRBO sends you the wrong address but host got back to me quickly when we couldn’t find it - make sure to confirm address with host (the one that starts with a 6 is incorrect)
